CHILL OUT WINTERFEST

Saturday  I  February 1 I 9AM- 7PM A full Evergreen community event!

Let’s face it foothills community- it gets cold here in the winter. And in the heart of the season, it can be downright freezing! But we all know it’s part of this lifestyle, so we embrace it as best we can. So, why not embrace it together this year?! Join Evergreen Chamber and Evergreen Parks and Rec as they roll out a day meant to celebrate winter to help remind us of the fun that can be experienced if we truly embrace this aspect of mountain living! 

The festivities kick off early with the Rad As Ice Bike Race at Evergreen Lake House, starting at 7 AM, followed by the Mushies Cup at 9 AM. For some friendly competition, check out the Evergreen Amazing Race, with check-in at 11 AM for adults 21 & up, or bring the family to the Amazing Race North family foot race with check-in at 11 AM.

The fun continues in the afternoon with a Winter Concert at Buchanan Park from 2- 4PM. And to top it all off, head back to Evergreen Lake House for the magical Glow Skate from 4- 7 PM. Grab your puffies, gloves, facemasks and tumblers and let’s kick February off with a special ode to an iconic part of this lifestyle!

LOVELAND SWEETHEART FESTIVAL

Friday I February 14 I 5- 9PM Saturday I February 15 I 10AM- 8PM New Foundry Plaza, Downtown Loveland

The Sweetheart Festival at Loveland Ski Area is a two-day event around Valentine’s Day, offering free fun for families, couples, and friends in the heart of the Sweetheart City. One of the weekend’s biggest highlights is the Loveland Sweetheart Classic, a four-mile race that’s perfect for runners of all levels- whether you're single or with your sweetheart, it’s a great way to stay active and meet new friends!  Beyond the race, enjoy a day filled with exciting activities, including live ice sculpting, fire and art demonstrations, musical and dance performances on the community stage, and the Little Miss Valentine & Little Mister Cupid Contest at the Historic Rialto Theater. Don’t skip on the For the Love of Beer Tent either, craft breweries from all over the state come to showcase their hop skills! 

Loveland upholds its 79-year historical reputation as the nation’s Sweetheart City, by transforming downtown into a magical place of love. A festival that not only offers something for everyone, but is truly a unique way to celebrate Valentine's Day!

WILD THINGS: THE ART OF MAURICE SENDAK

Open through February 17 I Doors at 10AM Denver Art Museum, Denver  

Looking for something more cultural this month? Head down to Denver to immerse yourself and/or your family in the wild beauty of Maurice Sendak’s work. “Wild Things: The Art of Maurice Sendak" showcases over 450 pieces by the renowned artist, best known for his classic children's book Where the Wild Things Are. The exhibition's title pays tribute to all the beauty, whimsy, and mischief that his art inspired over his 65-year career.

Expect to see unique pieces of Sendak’s timeless art, such as the final artworks for Where the Wild Things Are, while also submerging yourself in the wonder of his extraordinary skills and deep understanding of creating picture books and designs for the stage, television, and film productions. Experience a wondrous collection of drawings, paintings, posters, and mockups for books, while also seeing first hand the original set designs for the Where the Wild Things Are Opera as well as the costumes for the feature-length film.

A truly remarkable production by the Denver Art Museum; this exhibit is a sure- fire way to ignite anyone’s innate imagination and creativity.

JEFFCO MIDDLE SCHOOL CAREER FAIR SERIES

Tuesday I February 25 I 9AM- 2PM Evergreen Middle School, Evergreen

*series starts on the 25th, in Evergreen, but continues through March- visit the link below to find a school closest to you   

Exciting things are happening for students at this year’s Career Exploration Day! Students from all over Jefferson Country will be bussed in to connect with 25-30 local businesses and community organizations, giving them the chance to discover a wide range of career paths.

The Career Fair Series invites families and local professionals who want to showcase their careers or businesses to the youth. Volunteers will be provided with a simple table set up and are encouraged to bring props, colleagues, and/or an interactive activity that represents their business.

Early exposure to different career opportunities helps students dream big about their future and gives them a sense of direction as they move through middle and high school. This event is built on the foundation of allowing kids to explore new possibilities and set goals that can guide their education and career choices. It’s a great way to inspire the next generation while connecting with our vibrant community!

WINTER WONDERGALA

Friday I February 28 I 5:30PM- Close. Mount Vernon Canyon Club, Golden

Excited to announce this year’s Winter WonderGala Theme: Frost & Flame! 

Join Mount Evans Home Health Care & Hospice for their 38th annual Benefit Gala, a Frost and Flame Adventure hosted at the beautiful Mount Vernon Canyon Club in Golden. This annual fundraising event is always an unforgettable evening matched with honorable support for a vital part of our foothills and mountain communities. All proceeds will support Mount Evans Home Health Care & Hospice, which has continued to offer compassionate home health and hospice care throughout our community for over 40 years. 

Starting at 5:30PM, enjoy drinks and hors d'oeuvres while exploring different themed rooms that highlight both frosty and warming delights. Dinner will be served at 7PM, followed by live and silent auctions and dancing to the music of Tunisia.
